Lisa’s comments
Saturday at Trentham
Race 9: Platinum Attack
5.12pm
“The going is back to a soft 7 this afternoon and it looks to be clearing up on Friday. Even if the track has the fire out of it at the start of the day I think it could be pretty dry by the last race so the inside draw won’t be too much of a concern. It should allow Matt Cartwright to get a nice bit of cover and ride him a touch handier than we have been. If he can get a cosy run, even in midfield, it will allow him to really finish the race off. He performs so well at Trentham and he has freshened up really nicely. His work on the course proper on Tuesday was great so I expect that, with the right run, he will be right in the finish.”
Sunday at Tauherenikau
Race 1: Platinum Tyche
12.50pm
“We are stepping up to 2050m on Sunday and I have also added blinkers. Her first two runs have been a touch disappointing compared with what she’s shown at home but the blinkers have really sharpened her up and I think the distance is going to really suit her. It looks like we are going to get that fire out of the ground which is what I think she has been looking for. I am expecting a much improved run from her. Kate Hercock rides from gate nine.”
